Check a tip of steering draft for existence of cracks and damage of a protective cover. Replace it if necessary.

Check a gap in the spherical hinge. Replace a tip of steering draft if necessary.

Turn a hinge finger five times.

Measure the moment of resistance to rotation of a finger of the spherical hinge, using special adaptation and a dynamometer (fig. 5.28).

Moment of resistance to rotation: 0,4–2,7 N · m.

Indications of a dynamometer: 3,4–25,5 N.
