1.2.2.6. Conditions of operation of safety cushions
Frontal safety cushions work under below-mentioned conditions.
– Force of front blow of the car exceeds the set size.
– Direct head-on collision of the car with a rigid not deformable wall at a speed of car higher than 22 km/h.
– Arrival on a border, the curb or a firm strong subject.
– A rigid landing after a jump or falling of the car.
– The slanting blow in a forward part of the car directed within the 60-degree sector.
– Hit in a deep hole or collision with a hole wall.
Conditions under which frontal safety cushions can not work are listed below.
– Collision with a tree or column. Despite strong damages of a body to similar accidents, longitudinal delay of the car can not exceed the set size at which frontal safety cushions have to work.
Slanting blow by a forward part of the car. In this case the longitudinal delay experienced by the car can not exceed the set size at which frontal safety cushions have to work.
– Collision with a back part of the car or with back protivopodkatny protection of the truck. The longitudinal delay experienced by the car at similar collisions can not exceed the set size at which frontal safety cushions have to work.
Further conditions under which frontal safety cushions usually do not work are listed.
– Blow of the car behind.
– Side blow of the car. However, at the same time the side safety cushion and an inflatable blind can work.
– Capsizing of the car. At the same time side pillows and inflatable blinds, but not frontal safety cushions can work.
Side safety cushions and inflatable blinds work if force of side blow (on the right or at the left) exceeds the set level. However, frontal safety cushions at the same time, as a rule, do not work.
Conditions under which side safety cushions and inflatable blinds can not work are given below.
– Slanting blow by a forward part of the car. In this case the side delay experienced by the car can not exceed the set size at which side safety cushions and inflatable blinds have to work.
– Side crash with a tree or a column. Despite strong damages of a body to similar accidents, side delay of the car can not exceed the set size at which side safety cushions and inflatable blinds have to work.
– Capsizing of the car. In this case the side overloads tested by the car can not exceed the set size at which side safety cushions and inflatable blinds have to work.
– Side crash with the two-wheeled vehicle. At similar collisions the side overloads tested by the car can not exceed the set size at which side safety cushions and inflatable blinds have to work.
Side safety cushions and inflatable blinds, as a rule, do not reveal in the following cases.
– Blow of the car behind.
– Front blow of the car. However, in this case frontal safety cushions can work.
