1.4.4.2. Check of level of cooling liquid
Check temperature of the beginning of freezing of cooling liquid in the engine cooling system at least once a year – before a winter season, and also before a trip to places where temperature of air can be negative.
Check a state and tightness of all connections of hoses of the cooling system of the engine and a heater. Replace all deformed or damaged hoses.
Fig. 1.173. Check of level of cooling liquid
|
On the cold engine the level of cooling liquid has to correspond to the basis of a jellied mouth of a radiator and be between top ("FULL") and lower ("LOW") tags on a wall of a broad tank (fig. 1.173).
If the level of cooling liquid fell to the lower tag ("LOW"), add liquid in a broad tank to the top tag ("FULL"). to prevent freezing of cooling liquid and to provide anticorrosive protection of the engine, use only cooling liquid of the recommended brand and the required concentration for a doliv.
NOTE
If on a cover of a radiator or a broad tank or about them there is a marking of "FL22", it is necessary to add only cooling liquid of the FL22 brand.
